Hello = Ni hao ...like knee and how
Goodbye = Zai jian ...start with ts like in pits, add the word eye. Then J sounds like J as in jam.
To thank = Xie Xie... Sh plus ye as in yes without the s. (do it twice)
Mother = Mama... you know this one
Father = Baba ... like the black sheep nursery rhyme
Paternal grandfather = Ye Ye ... like the ye in yes, only twice.
Paternal grandmother = Nai Nai... as in night without the t, twice
Maternal grandfather = Wai Gong or Lao Ye ... why gong; or rhymes with how, then like the ye in yes
Maternal grandmother = Wai Po or Lao Lao... why and po (as in potato); or rhymes with how (twice)
Aunt = A Yi … ah & yee
Uncle = Shu Shu … shoe (twice)
Cousin = Biao Qin … b plus ya plus oh and chin
Family/Home = Jia ... j as in jam plus ya (as in see ya)
Lovely/Cute = ke ai... k sound (rhymes with duh) and eye like what you see with
I love you = Wo ai ni... waw, eye, knee
No= Bu … boo
Please = qíng … cheeng
