Day 3 with Angel...

She had another great night, slept through it without a peep. Her referral paperwork said she was a "medium" sleeper, we'd call her a great sleeper. Now she is not a big fan of you getting her to settle down and snuggle a bit to relax for naps or bed but with a little effort she settles and goes to sleep. You can tell when she is getting sleepy as her moodiness increases and she does this "soothing thing" where she puts her thumb or hand in front of her lips - she does this a lot when she sleeps or is going to sleep.

She had highs and lows today and was a little clingy to mama today. She can go from being a very happy little girl to being pouty, which is to be expected. She has done much better than we had expected her to. The Lord will continue to be with us and help us all along the way.

She amazes us, each day with how intelligent she is. We got kisses on the cheek (mama even got one on the lips), she mimics thumbs up and she lets us know when she wants our attention and points to what she wants. She came up to me several times today and would pat my leg or say "mama" and then grab a finger and take me where she wanted me to go. If she wants you to sit, she will pat or point to the floor/bed/chair. It is quite fascinating to watch her. This evening she took me to the bathroom and pointed to the bath tub, guess she liked last nights bath, so after dinner we gave her another. She played in there for about 30 minutes.

We noticed on Monday when we got her that she had scratches on her belly and later discovered them on her arms and upper back as well. We also noticed she had very dry skin and she would itch. So we have been putting lotion on her each day and her skin is feeling much smoother. She still scratches and I wonder now if it's not more out of habit than anything else. We have been trying to get her to stop by distracting her when she does it or start to rub her skin to stop her scratching.

It hit about 85 her etoday so we took a walk and went to a park Jinan is known for, Quancheng Square, you will see many photos in the album of it. The water fountain I hear is really neat at night because they light it up. Wish our hotel room was on the other side of the building so we could see it. We plan to visit a few other sites tomorrow.

She and I did "Ring Around the Rosie" today and she loved it.


We love and miss you Downey kids, one more week and we'll be home!!! See you online later.
