Our Homestudy visits are complete!!!!

Well, at least till we bring our China Angel home. We just finished our finally homestudy visit - YAY!!!! This all seems to be coming together rather quickly for us, knock on wood. They usually say to allow 3-4+ months to complete the "paper trail" and it's only been about 6 weeks at this point, though we have to get all the state and federal certifications/authentications complete so I'm sure that will take a few more weeks and we have to wait on the homestudy report, hopefully that won't take long - crossing fingers. Still hoping we make that December 15th deadline. Thank you to all of our friends and family members who wrote referral letters for us and were also our "unsolicited" referrals - we really appreciate your putting the time into helping us along with this journey.

At this point in time it is taking about 14 months to get a referral from the point in time when China enters you into their system (LID). One of the families at the agency we are using had a LID (Log In Date) of 8/25/05 and just got referral this week for a little girl that is about 9 months old. So if we get our paperwork completed and sent in December, we probably won’t get logged in till after the first of the year; therefore, we probably won’t have a referral till about mid-2008 – that seems so far off. Crossing fingers that China speeds the referral process up instead of continuing the slow down, their current trend. We’ll have to wait and see
